The Jen-Jen got out early through the inlet today to once again be greeted by 53 degree water temperatures. We then traveled 8-10 miles off shore where the water temp was 71 degrees! Just incredible the change in temperature from the surf temps. We had a different drift as reported from yesterday but we were still able to box 4 Fluke to 20″. We also limited on Sea Bass and caught a couple Red Hake and Tog all released.
It looked like thunderstorms were forming around noon so we headed in to be greeted by a short downpour at the dock. It was still a decent day for some visiting friends!
Ed V’s Note: Water temps as reported by Larry, in Greg Cudnik’s weekly report today and as I experienced fishing on the Miss BL have been very cold recently due to all the south winds and their upwelling effect. But the fish are still around. Yesterday, Cheri Hebert caught a 24 1/4″ fluke drifting Barnegat Inlet!
