Jeff Barnhart and I left the dock at 6:30 am on the SEA BONA and headed for the Little Egg Reef. We arrived on the reef and started fishing at 7:45. Light South West wind with 2 to 3 foot seas. Water temp. upper 50s. Air temp. low 70s. At around 8:00 I hooked up and caught an 18 1/2 inch fluke. It was a slow pick all day. Wind and seas picked up as predicted. Jeff caught a 23 inch fluke weighing in at 3.6 lbs. and I caught a sea bass weighing in at 3.25 lbs. Our total catch was 4 keeper fluke and 1 keeper sea bass plus some shorts. Seas built to about 4 footers by 12:30, so 12:40 we picked up and ran in. We were happy with our day on the reef.
