I went up to the Mullica River on Wednesday morning with 2 rods and a dozen bloodworms. One rod had a striper rig with 4/0 inline circle hooks, and a perch rig was on the other. Perch were biting good right away. An hour after I arrived, I reeled in my first striper of the year. It was about 26″ and swam away strong after release. I ended up with a stringer full of good size perch by the time the worms were depleted. I have heard of more bass being caught in the bays and rivers lately, so my pursuit for them will continue. Expect more reports from yours truly, Bayside Dave.
Ed V adds “Bayside forgot to measure and enter his White Perch! Several species opened on March 1st.”🤙
