When Phil Simon asked me to join him on Friday to try for Tog, I quickly said yes. My boat is waiting on a fuel injector and will likely be out another week or two. The weather seemed perfect, but the inlet was really bouncy! Once we cleared it and turned north, the seas were a bit calmer.
Phil wanted to fish the wrecks a half mile north and close to the beach. Fishing was definitely on the slow side. The fish in the photo was 18+”. I had two other shorts and another keeper at 15″. Phil had a much tougher time of it. Same bait, same jigs but he had just a few bites. Go figure. At 10:30, the winds changed to out of the south and the cold air was not fun!
Since the fishing was slow, we decided to call it a day.
